Information a Visitor Chooses to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name or location into a partner search box, the outside provider operating that tool receives the query. Clay County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Email and Other Messages
We retain an email or contact submission long enough to review it and respond. We do not share the message beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Details Collected During a Visit
Standard website systems may record basic technical and usage details when a page loads, including:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- The pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of the request
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies help us understand how visitors move through the site. A browser can block or remove them, though a search or other feature may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Purposes for Using Site Data
We use the limited information described above to operate and improve the site, specifically to:
- Maintain reliable and responsive pages
- Send search requests to the selected partner service
- Measure which Clay County guides visitors find useful
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Beyond Clay County Released Inmates
Our pages link to Sheriff's release-record resources, Missouri corrections and court portals, federal tools, and third-party searches. Once a visitor follows one of those links, the destination's privacy policy controls its handling of information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place under the advertising partner's practices, not as a Clay County Released Inmates record.
Parties That May Receive Information
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- Search providers that process a visitor's query
- Analytics providers that measure use of the site
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security, Not a Guarantee
We use customary safeguards suited to a public information website. No internet-connected service can be made completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach, interception, or loss will never occur.
Visitors Must Be Adults
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If a minor submitted information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us page to request its deletion.
Requests About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and verification, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data we hold
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information where required
- Stop certain processing where an opt-out right applies
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may revise these privacy practices as the site or its services change. An updated notice will appear on this page with a new effective date.
